The current scene concerning mobile technology presents a good degree of ripeness mainly supported by a wide diffusion of UMTS / HSUPA devices, the introduction of new technologies for value-added services, the evolution of payment systems, the entrance of virtual mobile operators, and concrete investments in R&D for the short-term release of new technologies for broadband radio access, able to guarantee currently unthinkable performances.
Based on these assumptions it is possible to identify in the cell phone - the only "user-friendly” tool available for every user - the ideal support for the diffusion of value-added services.
Taking advantage of multimedia technology, the Exploro project (Latin “explōro”: explore) aims to the production of an information system that allows the delivery of educational, informational or recreational value-added services.
